Team 1977
The baseball team of 1977 won the East Region title and the NWAC championship with an overall record of 38-8. At the time, it was the program’s record for wins in a season and it was a mark they held for 41 years. The team's batting average was .292 while the pitching staff had a team ERA of 3.00. YVC, who hosted the 1977 NWAC Championship Tournament, had to do it the long way having suffered a first round loss before coming all the way back and beating Edmonds 7-5 before defeating Spokane Falls twice (6-3 and 5-4) to win their second straight title. The team was inducted into the NWAC Hall of Fame in 1997, on the twentieth anniversary of their championship.
