Jason Weatherley enters his fourth season at the helm of Yakima Valley College softball after being named the program's head coach on October 28, 2022.  He is the eighth head coach in program history.

In 2025, the Yaks qualified for their second straight NWAC Championship Tournament appearance. In 2024 the program earned its first appearance at the NWAC Championships in over 30 years.  While YVC hasn't yet places at the tournament, Weatherley did lead them to their first win in program history, a 9-0 shutout of Treasure Valley in 2024.  Weatherley feels that squad may have been arguably the most talented in program history, "when we learned to play with and for each other, we started to gel together and were competitive in every single game." In 2023, YVC narrowly missed qualifying for the NWAC championships with Weatherley stating, "just a few wins here and there would've made the difference."

Prior to his head coaching role, Weatherley served the program as an assistant coach.  He is also highly involved in the softball travel team circuit, currently overseeing the USA Explosion Yakima programs.  In addition, Weatherley has served as Board President of East Valley Little League.

Weatherley earned his bachelor's degree in history from Washington State University.  In addition to his coaching duties, he has a consulting business.  He lives in Yakima with his wife, Katy and their three children, daughter Presley and twins Colton and Casen.
